Then fuck me hard and fuck me good—but only halfway.  People who think they’re musicians because they play Rock Band strike me as really pretty sad.  That’s not to say you can’t turn things around and make music from the controllers.  That’s punk, baby: use what’s available and make some damn music.  (I think the general idea here is that there’s a huge difference between making your own music and playing someone else’s, even well.)  I don’t think anyone who appreciates the medium can argue that music and video games are practically inseparable—it doesn’t work just one way. Now there’s a whole different point to be made about how incredibly complex some old NES-era music was and still is, but I’ll just assume that’s either well-known or easily researched. I’m afraid that knowing how to play a real guitar has completely fucked me over for being able to play a fake one.  At least there are drums!  [Insert drummer joke here.]
